Marshall W. Spaulding Jr., 94, of Edgecomb, formerly of Dover-Foxcroft, husband of the late Martha E. (Willard) Spaulding, passed away Jan. 7 at Mid Coast Hospital, Brunswick. He was born Feb. 28, 1922 in Dover-Foxcroft, the son of Marshall W. Sr. and Hazel E. (Hewett) Spaulding. A WWII Veteran, Marshall served with the U.S. Navy in the South Pacific. He worked for many years for Fay Scott before owning and operating M&M Variety and Central Maine Exterminating Service, all in Dexter. Marshall was a member of the American Legion and VFW, and the Church of the Nazarene in Dover-Foxcroft.
In addition to Marshall’s wife Martha, he was predeceased by a great-grandson, Jayden Stewart; great-granddaughter, Gabrielle Poulin; brother, Merle Spaulding; and sisters, Maxine Cole, Irma Knowles, and Beverly Gallison.
He is survived by sons, Dana Spaulding and wife Mary, Bruce and wife Loanne, and Steven Spaulding; daughter, Carol Poulin; grandchildren, Kevin Spaulding and wife Brenda, Kathy Vargas and husband John, Mitchell Spaulding and wife Nikki, Andrew Spaulding and wife Katie, Tony Poulin and wife Krista, Marc Poulin and wife Marcy, Danielle Stewart and husband Jason, David Spaulding and wife Mikey, Joseph Spaulding, Briana Spaulding, Alex Spaulding, and Caleb Spaulding; great-grandchildren, Megan, Marc, John Jr., Krissy, Emma, Chloe, Sophie, Will, Eli, Josie, Aiden, Amber, Rachel, Nicholas, Maci, Mariah, Maranda, Tyeler, Baylee, and Landen; brothers, Aubrey Spaulding, and Harlan Spaulding and wife Phyllis; sister, Charlene Page; and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside memorial service will be conducted in the spring at the family lot in Rural Grove Cemetery, Dover-Foxcroft.
