Mary Alice Baker Wilson, 70, born in Jefferson March 19, 1945, left this world to be with Jesus on May 17 after a long, courageous battle with cancer.
She was the cherished daughter of Harold and Althea Baker and beloved wife of Donald Wilson for 51 wonderful years. Mary was a beautician in her home for many years and loved working with people.
Mary was known as a child of God and openly shared her faith with others. Her Godly life was greatly responsible for her husband accepting Christ as his Savior. She taught Sunday School, Little Peoples’ Church and Vacation Bible School for many years. She was also a substitute schoolteacher at many schools in Lincoln and Kennebec counties. She loved traveling and camping in Florida, the eastern U.S. and Maine. Lamoine State Park was one of her favorite places to visit.
She is predeceased by her brother Harold (Stu) Baker.
She is survived by wonderful children, Anita Smith and husband Troy, Karen Wing and husband Allen, Laurie Wilson and partner Mike, and Donald Wilson, Jr.; grandchildren, Amber Smith, Bethany Stephenson and husband Tim, Justin, Ashley and Bradley Wing, and her first great-grandson to be born this fall; brother, Richard (Dick) Baker and wife Liz of Waldoboro; sister, Judy Bisson of Windsor; and sister-in-law, Wanita Baker of Augusta.
There will be a celebration of Mary’s life at 2 p.m., Sat., June 6 at Fellowship Baptist Church, 237 Eastern Ave., Augusta.
