Mary Louise Wisniewski, 92, of Damariscotta, passed away peacefully May 2 at Miles Memorial Hospital. She was born on Nov. 21, 1919 in Limington. She grew up in Maine but spent a good deal of her life on Long Island, N.Y., where she raised her family.
She was a graduate of the Maine Medical Center School of Nursing. She enjoyed a long nursing career on Long Island before retiring and moving back to her home state.
She was predeceased by her first husband, William Kart; and second husband, Walter Wisniewski.
She is survived by her sister, Marie Reilly of Hiram; brother-in-law, Walter Sukeforth of Camden; daughter, Wendy Stelzer and husband Edwin of Damariscotta, with whom she lived for the past year; daughter, JoAnne Gouveia and husband John of Wells; son, William Kart and fiancée Donna Bandy of Inverness, Fla.; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
There will be no immediate local service, but she will be interred at the Veteran’s Cemetery in Tampa, Fla. A family celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
