Merritt Vincent Collamore, 65, of Waldoboro, died Dec. 29 at his residence after battling heart disease for many years.
Merritt was born May 14, 1944 in South Hiram, the son of Edwin and Ferne Eldridge Collamore, growing up and attending school in Bremen.
He was a longtime clammer in Bremen, retiring due to his failing health in 1999.
Merritt lived to spend time with his family, especially his grandchildren, was a successful hunter and fisherman, enjoyed bowling at DePatsy’s Bowling Lanes in Waldoboro and enjoyed spending time in the Moosehead Lake region anytime he could. Most recently, he was known to keep an eye downtown from his corner in front of Sam Cohen’s office.
He is predeceased by a brother Sterling Collamore.
Survivors include his wife of 30 plus years, Wanda Wildes Collamore of Waldoboro; sons, Jason Baker and wife Kristen of Washington, and Vincent Collamore of Ripley; daughter, Melissa Pyznarski and husband Andrew of Thomaston; grandchildren, Jeremy Collamore of Ripley, Ryan Pyznarski of Thomaston, and Lucas Baker of Washington; brother, Bradley Collamore and wife Patty of Bremen; sisters, Ellen Collamore of Bremen, and Sandra Lewis and husband Teddy of Bristol; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, sisters- and brothers-in-law.
Friends are invited to call 6-8 p.m., Mon., Jan. 4 at the Hall Funeral Home, 949 Main St., Waldoboro, where a celebration of Merritt’s life will be 11 a.m., Tues., Jan. 5 with Rev. Robert Dorr officiating.
