Minnie Tibbetts Farris, 81, of Belfast, passed away July 14 at the Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor after a brief illness. She was born in Whitefield on March 17, 1934, the daughter of Fred and Annie Tibbetts.
She was educated in Whitefield schools. She met the love of her life, Ernest Farris, and they were married on Sept. 7, 1974 at the home of Norman Chase in Whitefield.
Minnie was predeceased by her parents; sister, Dora Bowden and husband George; brother, Charles Tibbetts and wife Eleanor; and brother-in-law, Charles Feyler, Jr.
She is survived by husband, Ernest of Belfast; sisters, Gladys Glidden and husband Leo, Hazel Kleinschmidt, and Jennie Feyler and companion Howard Gregg; and many nieces, nephews and numerous cousins.
Graveside services will be held at a later date in the family lot in Whitefield Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the care of Staples Funeral Home, 53 Brunswick Ave., Gardiner.
