Norma Elaine Davis Black, 66, of Friendship, passed away Dec. 1 at Penobscot Bay Medical Center in Rockport after a brief illness.
Mrs. Black was born June 12, 1940, in Waldoboro, the daughter of Lauriston “Dave” and Lois (Harkins) Davis. She was a graduate of Waldoboro High School, class of 1958.
A homemaker for her family, Norma found great enjoyment caring and supporting her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was a member of Friendship United Methodist Church, Grace Chapter, and Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed ceramics, tole painting and other crafts.
Survivors include her husband, John W. Black of Friendship; sons, Blake A. Black and wife Belle of Friendship, and Donald C. Black and wife Tammy of Union; daughter, Laurie Ann Smith and husband Steven of Waldoboro; grandchildren, Crystal Boody and husband Brian of West Bath, Colby Black and wife Rachel of Waldoboro/Korea, Rachelle Black of Waldoboro, Sandra Karbowski of Texas, Crystal Bosworth and Anthony Bosworth of Friendship, Craig Black and Jessica Black of Union, and Justin Smith and Kyle Smith of Waldoboro; great-grandchildren, Gavin Black and Scarlet Boody of West Bath; brother, Blaine Davis and wife Viola of Friendship; sisters, Bonnie Micue and husband Herb of Warren, and Kathy Morrissette and husband Skip of East Vassalboro; and many nieces and nephews.
Graveside service 1 p.m., Wed., Dec 6 at the Harbor Cemetery, Friendship, with Reverend Linda Grenfell officiating.
Memorial gathering after the services at the Masonic Lodge Hall in Friendship.
