Norma Moody Dion, 81, of Nobleboro, died on April 8 at Maine Medical Center in Portland. Born on April 22, 1934 in Damariscotta, she was the daughter of R. Ellis and Thelma (Donnell) Moody and was a member of the Class of 1952 at Waldoboro High School.
Norma met her future husband, Donald “Bud” W. Dion who was building a cottage on Damariscotta Lake. They were married on Oct. 5, 1952 and enjoyed spending time at their property on the lake.
An active member of the North Nobleboro Church for many years, Norma had been a former deacon and trustee there and was always willing to organize church events. An excellent baker, Norma made thousands of pies and dozens of biscuits for all of the church suppers, other fundraising and community events.
Norma was a member of the North Nobleboro sewing club. She had resided at Cove’s Edge in Damariscotta for the past three years where she was president of the resident’s council. Norma quietly repaired zippers, mended seams, and hemmed clothing for the residents, leaving the items of clothing on their room doors after hours.
