Norman W. Prescott, 84, of Yarmouth and Whitefield, died unexpectedly Aug. 21 at his camp in Whitefield. He was born the ninth child of Pearl Justin and Maude Pullen Prescott.
Norman was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII. Her had been employed at the DOT State of Maine for 30 years retiring in 1987. He then went to work for Scott Dugas for seven years before finally retiring.
He enjoyed going to camp, fishing, boating, a good story and giving a good story. He really enjoyed good snowstorms that he did not have to plow.
Norman was predeceased by his wife Alice Prescott, his daughter Tracy Wilder and several brothers and sisters.
He is survived by his son, Gregory Prescott of Waterville; grandson, Eric Prescott of Durham; brother, Pearl Prescott, Jr. of Augusta; sisters, Mable Farrin of Augusta, Arlene Gray of Connecticut, and Lizabelle Heath of Augusta; and sister-in-law, Pat Prescott of Whitefield.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m., Thurs., Aug. 27 at Staples Funeral Home, 53 Brunswick Ave., Gardiner. Burial with full military honors will follow in the Highland Cemetery, Jefferson beside his wife.
