Pauline “Polly” Grace Jones, passed away after a brief illness on Oct. 5 at home surrounded by her son and daughter-in-law and hospice at their side. She was born on March 20 in Brooksville, the daughter of Arthur Jones and Victoria Carter. Polly grew up in Brooksville and attended area schools.
After schooling she married Ralph Jones Sr. in 1952 in Union and became a mother and homemaker.
Polly worked at Alan’s Blueberry Factory in Union and High Tide Motel in Lincolnville as a baker.
She and Ralph travelled to Florida for winters for 15 years where she enjoyed spending her time with family and friends.
Polly was a wonderful mom and got to spend the last three months of her life living with her only child, Ralph Jones Jr. and daughter-in-law Vickey Jones.
Polly is predeceased by her parents; brothers, Arthur and Robert; sister, Elizabeth; and step-grandson, Casey Tolman.
She is survived by her husband, Ralph Jones Sr. of Coopers Mills; son, Ralph Jones Jr. and wife Vickey of Jefferson; sisters, Ruth McMullen and husband Andrew of Peabody, Mass., and Marion Jones of Chelsea, Mass.; brothers, James Jones and wife Pat of Rockland, and Theodore Jones of Washington; grandson, Kristopher Jones and wife Stephanie of Great Falls, Mont.; granddaughter, Kristina Barahona and husband Mateo of Miami, Fla.; step-grandson Jeremy Tolman and wife Mary of Rockland; great-granddaughter, Emma Grace Barahona of Miami, Fla.; great-grandson, Logan Jones of Thomaston; former daughter-in-law, Susan Jones of Miami, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
Friends are welcome to join the family for a time of visitation 5-7 p.m., Tues., Oct. 13 at Hall’s of Waldoboro, 949 Main St., Waldoboro. A graveside service to celebrate Polly’s life will be held 11 a.m., Wed., Oct. 14 at the East Union Cemetery in Union.
