Ralph Edward Hansen, 91, of Boothbay Harbor, died on Aug. 3 at his son’s home in Boothbay Harbor.
He was born on Sept. 20, 1918 in Boston, Mass., attended schools in the Boston area, and graduated from a Boston high school.
Ralph joined the Army after high school and fought in WWII. Some of his favorite things to do were playing cribbage, fishing and just going for a ride.
Five years ago Ralph and his wife Barbara McLellan Hansen moved to Boothbay Harbor to be near their son Ronald. He and Barbara were married almost 60 years.
Ralph is predeceased by wife, Barbara and son, Richard Hansen.
Survivors include sons, Ronald Hansen and wife Debbie of Boothbay Harbor and Ralph Hansen Jr. and wife Susan of Osterville, Mass.; grandchildren, Stephen Hansen of Osterville, Mass., Gregory Hansen of Easton, Mass., Erik Hansen of Lyman, Mass., Christopher Hansen of Biddeford, Matthew Hansen of Boothbay Harbor and Cassandra Hansen of Boothbay Harbor; stepdaughter; Betty Nielson of Mansfield, Mass.; step-grandchildren, Ricky Nielson of Taunton, Mass. and Debbie Ludodico of Princeton, Mass.; daughter-in-law, Melanie Hansen of Sanford, Mass.; and several great-grandchildren.
Memorial service 12 p.m., Sat., Sept. 4 at Pemaquid Lighthouse in Bristol with a reception to follow.
