The Reverend Warren Clarke Skipp, of Watertown, Conn. and Round Pond, husband of Cynthia Kellogg Skipp, died peacefully at Yale New Haven Hospital on Dec. 13 after a long illness.
The Reverend Skipp was born Oct. 16, 1925 in Queens Village, Long Island, a son of the late Francis and Emilie (Stine) Skipp, and lived in Watertown, Conn. for the past eight years. He proudly served his country in the Army Air Force during WWII, graduated from Swarthmore College in 1949, and from the Episcopal Theological Seminary in Cambridge, Mass. in 1952. The Reverend Skipp served as the rector of churches in Baltimore, Md.; Lynn, Mass.; and for 18 years, Trinity Church in Swarthmore, Penn. After retiring from parish ministry, he served as the chaplain at the Kent School, Kent, Conn. Mr. Skipp was a lover of music, art, and history. He and his wife traveled extensively in Europe.
Mr. Skipp is survived by his wife of 55 years, Cynthia; sons, Andrew Skipp of Middlebury, Conn., and David Skipp of Leesburg, Va.; daughter, Lucy Craft of Media, Penn.; and seven grandchildren, Emily and Andrew Skipp of Middlebury, Conn., Katherine, Margaret, and James Skipp of Leesburg, Va., and Patrick Fleming and Charlotte Craft of Media, Penn.
Funeral 11 a.m., Sat., Dec. 27 at St. Johns Episcopal Church in Waterbury, Conn.
