Ricky Edward Nguyen, 43, of Woolwich, went home to be with our Lord on May 15 at Maine Medical Center in Portland.
He was born in Vietnam on Feb. 22, 1974, a son of Cu Nguyen and Tam Bui.
Ricky moved to the U.S. as a child and proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He became a citizen in 2003. He met the love of his life Deborah Bailey and they married on Dec. 27, 2003. After moving to Maine, he graduated from SMCC with his associate degree in Applied Science for Electrical Engineering Technologies on Dec. 17, 2011. He was employed at Mancini Electric in Portland and in 2014 he was employed by Bath Iron Works in the electrical department.
He was a member of the North Woolwich Methodist Church and member of Local 6 at Bath Iron Works.
Ricky was a devoted and loving husband and father who enjoyed cooking and spending time with family and friends. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He was predeceased by sisters, Hai Wong and Hang Nguyen.
He is survived by wife, Deborah Bailey Nguyen of Woolwich; son, Samuel Nguyen of Woolwich; daughters, Isabella Nguyen and Grace Nguyen, both of Woolwich; brothers, Hop Nguyen, Nam Nguyen, and Phong Nguyen, all of California; six special nieces and nephew including Emily and Jason Wong; aunt Van Bui and Chi Bellmore, her husband Jarrod, and Vicky Nhan, all of Pittsfield, Mass.; his parents; many aunts and uncles, cousins; and the Bailey and Cao families.
Visiting hours will be held from 6-8 p.m., Thurs., May 18 at Daigle Funeral Home, 819 High St., Bath. A memorial service will be held at 12 p.m., Fri., May 19 at North Woolwich Methodist Church, 941 River Rd., Woolwich. A gathering of family and friends will follow at the church. Burial will be at 9:30 a.m., Sat., May 20 at Grover Cemetery in Woolwich.
