Roy Henry Light, 87, of Thomaston, passed away Sept. 27 at the Knox Center in Rockland.
He was born Jan. 9, 1921 in Nobleboro, the son of the late Herbert and Aldana Eugley Light. He attended local schools and was a graduate of Lincoln Academy, Class of 1940.
He was employed at the Medomak Canning Company, Round Top Farm, Paragon Button Factory, Delaware Feed Stores, Spears Farms, Eastern State Grain store and the Jefferson Village School. When he retired, he was employed as a custodian and bus driver, working for the Rockland District School SAD #5.
He enjoyed stock car racing, horse racing and watching baseball games.
He was predeceased by his wife Leila A. Croxford Light on Oct. 16, 1960 and sister, Ruth E. Light Prock.
Survivors include his sisters, Muriel T. Teirila of Warren, and Frances E. Light Prock of Rockland; niece, Marion McMahan, of Owls Head and many other nieces and nephews.
Graveside service 11 a.m., Fri., Oct. 3 at the Orff’s Corner Cemetery in Waldoboro.
