Russell Steven McLain Luce, 26, of Waldoboro, died suddenly March 8 at the Beverly Heights Hospital in Beverly, Mass. of heart issues.
Russell was born June 28, 1983 in Rockport, the son of Russell Stanley Luce and Monica Marie McLain Luce, and attended Medomak Valley High School. During his youth, he participated in basketball and baseball leagues.
In 2000, he was blessed with the donation of a heart transplant, which gave him 10 more years of bringing love to his family, expanding his family with the addition of three sons to his family’s tree.
Russell did light work with his dad, mowing lawns, cutting wood and painting. He loved to hunt and spend time with his children. He would give the shirt off his back for anyone in need. He was a best friend, a great son, a great father and brother, and a hero to some.
He is predeceased by his paternal grandparents, John and Mary Luce, and Russell Luce; paternal great-grandmother, Arlene Prior; and maternal grandparents, Harlan G. McLain and Anna Marie Call Pavone.
Survivors include his mother and father of Waldoboro; brothers, Brandon Luce, Travis Luce and Colton Luce; sister, Heaven Luce; sons, Russell Steven Luce and Hunter John Luce; son to be born in May, Bryson Russell Steven Luce; companion, Ashley Frost, all of Waldoboro; aunt, Valerie Cook and uncle Paul Thomas Pavone both of Beverly, Mass.; aunt, Juanita Florent of Vermont; uncles Texx Luce, Duane Luce and Russell Luce III; and many other aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Time of visitation 2-4 p.m., Fri., March 12 at the Hall Funeral Home, 949 Main St., Waldoboro.
