Sally Mae Townsend, 78, of Waldoboro, passed away unexpectedly on Jan. 18 at her home.
She was born in Presque Isle on Aug. 8, 1938 to Walter R. Benson and Mary K. (Curless) Benson. Sally was a graduate of Shead High School in Eastport.
She was employed in the office for the Town of Wallingford in Connecticut for many years. She loved quilting, antiques, bird watching and walks on the beach.
Sally was predeceased by her parents.
She is survived by children, Landa Townsend-Ng and husband Joseph of Charlotte, Vt., Joseph Townsend and wife Patti of Meriden, Conn., and Lori Townsend of Waldoboro; grandchildren, Kayleigh and Joseph Townsend and Jasmine Ng; brother, William Benson of Rochester, N.H.; sister, Bonnie Caron of Waterville; and beloved dog, Molly.
