Sterling F. “Bud” Campbell, 95, of Boothbay Harbor, died Oct. 27 at the Gregory Wing of St. Andrews Village in Boothbay Harbor. He was born Nov. 30, 1914 in Trevett to Stephen and Nettie Barter Campbell. Bud grew up in the Boothbay region and graduated from Boothbay Harbor High School.
He was the owner of Leavitt’s Garage in Boothbay for many years. He was past master of Bay View Masonic Lodge No. 196 in East Boothbay where he was a member for 68 years. He was also a member of the Kora Temple Shrine, Boothbay Region Country Club, Martin County Golf Course in Stuart, Fla. and was a charter member of the Boothbay Harbor Lions Club
He wintered in Florida for over 30 years. He loved to ride his bike at the park in Florida and was an avid golfer.
He was predeceased by his wife, Norma Leavitt Campbell; son, Stephen “Page” Campbell; sister, Irma Greenleaf; niece, Ruth Barter Greenleaf; and nephew, Lawrence Greenleaf.
He is survived a sister, Avis Barter of Trevett; nephews, Calvin Barter and wife Sally of Boothbay Harbor and Neil Barter and wife Sandra of Boothbay Harbor; nieces, Judy Greenleaf Williams and husband Ralph of Bath and Nancy Greenleaf Lewis and husband Stanley of Bath; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
Graveside service 11 a.m., Thurs., Nov. 4 at Oceanview Cemetery, Country Club Rd., Boothbay. Al Roberts will officiate.
