Valada C. Anderson, 71, passed away Feb. 18 at Cove’s Edge Nursing Home in Damariscotta.
A native of Waldoboro, she was born May 7, 1935, the daughter of Louis and Gloria (Matthews) Caron.
After attending schools in Waldoboro, she relocated to Newcastle. For the past 35 years she lived with her husband, Theodore L. Anderson.
For many years, Val provided assistance at the Flea Market in Nobleboro. She had many interests and hobbies.
She leaves her husband, Ted of Newcastle; children, Donald Genthner and Susan Genthner of Rockland, and Maria Bailey of Bristol; brother, Louis Caron of Thomaston; and five grandchildren.
Friends and family are invited to call 4-6 p.m., Fri., Feb. 23 at Strong Funeral Home, 612 Main St., Damariscotta; where her service will follow at 2 p.m., Sat., Feb. 24.
She will be laid to rest in the spring in Waldoboro.
