Vivian G. Begin, 86, of Nobleboro, passed away on the afternoon of Oct. 2 at Mid-Coast Hospital in Brunswick.
She was born Nov. 2, 1927 in Boston, Mass., a daughter of the late Theodore and Elizabeth (Rothwell) Schlosky.
Mrs. Begin was a graduate of Girls Memorial High School in Boston. In 1951, she married Charles W. Begin and she remained a resident of Massachusetts until 2000 when she moved to the family’s vacation home in Maine. She was an avid bowler and enjoyed crocheting. Her family is grateful that her memory will live on through the beautiful pieces of watercolor artwork she created.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of more than 41 years, who died March 9, 1992; sisters, Rita Chalifeau and Elizabeth “Betty-Lou” Schlosky; and brother, Theodore “Buddy” Schlosky.
Mrs. Begin is survived by children, Charles L. Begin and wife Marilyn of Venice, Fla., Thomas D. Begin and wife Karen of Sanford, Pauline O’Keefe of Attleboro, Mass., and John J. Begin of Nobleboro; sister, Dorothy “Dottie” Ryan and husband Joseph of Middleboro, Mass.; grandchildren, Caroline O’Keefe, Kerry St. Pierre and husband Thomas, Kristin Hoffman and husband Daniel, Robert O’Keefe, Thomas Begin, and Emily Begin; as well as a great-grandchild, Morgan Rose Hoffman.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m., Fri., Oct. 17 at the Fairmount Cemetery, 123 Cedar St., in Weymouth, Mass.
