William (Bill) Arthur Langer, 67, of Wiscasset, died Jan. 4 at Mid Coast Hospital, Brunswick, of cancer. He was born March 8, 1946, in Manchester, N.H., the son of Howard Norman Langer and Martha Ruth (Humason) Langer.
He enjoyed his downtown Wiscasset second-floor apartment where he could “watch the world” of Main Street. He also enjoyed going to The Alna Store for lunches.
He worked many years for Giles Rubbish, Inc., of Boothbay. He drove their trucks and was well thought of by his fellow employees and his customers alike.
He is predeceased by father, Howard Norman Langer; infant son, Kevin; wife, Viola Marie (Havener) Langer; and stepfather, John Brice Sutter.
He is survived by mother, Martha Ruth (Humason) Hyler; four sisters; two brothers; children, Howard, Tammy, Pamela, Wanda, and Darrell; three stepchildren; and many cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and grandchildren.
It was Bill’s wish not to have any service.
In lieu of flowers, donations towards his final expenses may be made in his name to Bible Baptist Church, 143 Beechnut Hill Rd., Wiscasset, ME 04578.
