Sheriff Todd Brackett reports the following:
On Oct. 7, Deputy 1st Class Brian Collamore was dispatched to a report of a theft of 2 cords of wood in the Bristol area. The complainant said he had 4 cords of wood delivered in April and someone stole approximately 2 cords (value: $600). Further investigation as any new leads come forth.
On Oct. 7, Deputy 1st Class Collamore was dispatched to a report of criminal mischief at the Bristol Area Library in Bristol. The complainant said someone had started a small fire, using magazines, which may have come from a nearby dumpster. It most likely happened after 6 p.m. the previous day, after the library closed, and 9 a.m. this date, when the library opened. There was no damage to a nearby generator, the dumpster, or a Central Maine Power Co. meter. Further investigation as any new leads or information come forth.
On Oct. 8, Sgt. Brendan Kane was dispatched to a report of the theft of six hardwood trees (value: $800) from a seasonal residence in the Westport Island area. The trees were approximately 12 inches around. Further investigation if any new leads develop.
Oct. 4, Jared Noyes, 48, of New Harbor, was issued summonses for operating under the influence (drugs or combo), operating after suspension, and refusing to sign summons, on Southside Road, Bristol, by Deputy Chad Gilbert.
Oct. 5, Faith L. Whitsit, 28, of Whitefield, was issued a summons for operating after suspension – prior, on Wiscasset Road, Whitefield, by Detective Scott Hayden.
Oct. 6, Seth L. Murley, 38, of Newcastle, was arrested for operating under the influence, on Route 1, Newcastle, by Sgt. Matthew Day.
Oct. 8, Hailey M. Brazier-Glidden, 27, of Warren, was arrested for domestic violence assault, on Waldoboro Road, Bremen, by Deputy 1st Class Collamore.
Oct. 10, David N. Wallace, 48, of Alna, was arrested for operating under the influence and operating after suspension, on Route 1, Nobleboro, by Reserve Deputy Dwight Fowles, who was assisted by Deputy Aaron Beck.
On Oct. 6, an accident occurred on Jones Woods Road in Newcastle involving Westleigh J. Munroe, 20, of Whitefield. Munroe was operating his 1998 Subaru Impreza southbound when, he said, an animal entered the roadway from the west side of the road. As a result, Munroe said, he lost control of his vehicle while trying to avoid striking the animal, causing his vehicle to leave the roadway and roll over. Sgt. Day was the investigating officer.
On Oct. 7, an accident occurred on Wiscasset Road in Whitefield involving Chelsea J. Foss, 26, of Whitefield. Foss was operating her 2002 Volkswagen Passat northbound when her vehicle caught on fire. Deputy 1st Class Collamore was the investigating officer.
On Oct. 8, an accident occurred on Bunker Hill Road in Jefferson involving Ruthann Shea, 53, of Jefferson. Shea was operating her 2009 Nissan Murano southbound when a deer ran into the roadway and struck her vehicle. Deputy 1st Class Collamore was the investigating officer.
On Oct. 9, an accident occurred on River Road in Edgecomb involving Eric E. M. Lawson, 35, of Newcastle. Lawson was operating his 2011 Dodge Caliber northbound when he entered the soft shoulder on the right side. As a result, his vehicle left the roadway and entered the ditch. His vehicle then struck a culvert to a private driveway and rolled over, coming to rest on the driver’s side and partially blocking the northbound travel lane. Reserve Deputy Michael Elwell was the investigating officer.
