Sheriff Todd Brackett reports the following:
On Oct. 13, Deputy Chad Gilbert was dispatched to a report of a theft of a 6-gallon red gas can full of gas from the Bremen town landing. Further investigation will follow as leads develop.
On Oct. 13, Deputy Gilbert was dispatched to a report of a theft of three 6-gallon gas tanks from boats on a dock at the Darling Marine Center in Walpole. Further investigation will follow as leads develop.
On Oct. 16, Lt. Rand Maker was dispatched to a report of a theft of a 10-foot dark green aluminum canoe (value: approximately $200) and two aluminum paddles with black tips (value: approximately $25) from a common area on the Damariscotta River in Newcastle. Further investigation will follow as information becomes available.
Oct. 17, a 17-year-old female from Newcastle was issued a summons for operating after suspension, on Route 1, Newcastle, by Deputy Ryan Chubbuck.
Oct. 13, James F. Willey, 45, of Augusta, was arrested for violation of a protection from abuse order, at the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, in Wiscasset, for an incident which occurred in Bristol, by Sgt. Jason Nein.
Oct. 14, Joshua M. Clifford, 37, of Bristol, was arrested for operating under the influence –one prior (test refusal) and a summons for operating motor vehicle beyond class restriction, on Back Meadow Road, Nobleboro, by Sgt. Nein.
Oct. 14, Austin Monti, 22, of Nobleboro, was arrested for operating under the influence (test refusal), on Route 1, Newcastle, by Sgt. Brendan Kane.
On Oct. 13, an accident occurred on Wiscasset Road in Boothbay involving Andrew P. Gardner, 38, of Phoenix, and Gregory S. Cavanaugh, 44, of Westport Island. Cavanaugh was slowing his 2010 Chrysler Town and Country in traffic when Gardner’s 1997 Toyota skidded into the back of Cavanaugh’s vehicle. Deputy Kevin Dennison was the investigating officer.
On Oct. 14, an accident occurred on Head Tide Road in Whitefield involving Joshua S. Spooner, 20, of West Gardiner. Spooner was operating his 2006 Jeep Liberty southbound when a family of deer entered the roadway. Spooner swerved to avoid the deer, drove off the roadway, and struck a “curve ahead” sign. Sgt. Kane was the investigating officer.
On Oct. 16, an accident occurred on Waldoboro Road in Jefferson involving Timothy E. Haight, 26, of Naples. Haight was operating his 2010 Dodge Avenger northbound when a deer ran out and struck the front of his vehicle. Deputy Chubbuck was the investigating officer.
Sept. 29, Kyler Carty, 19, of Boothbay, speeding 71 mph in a posted 50 mph speed zone, failure to show proof of insurance, operating with an expired registration, Route 27, Edgecomb, Sgt. Kane.
Oct. 6, Anthony Dolan, 67, of Mansfield, Mass., speeding 42 mph in a posted 15 mph speed zone, Route 130, Bristol, Deputy Dennison.
Leonard Tavormulna, 70, of Sarasota, Fla., speeding 34 mph in a posted 15 mph speed zone, Route 130, Bristol, Deputy Dennison.
