Sheriff Todd Brackett reports the following:
On April 26, Deputy Chad Gilbert responded to a report of criminal mischief to a motor vehicle in the Boothbay area. The complainant said that sometime between 2-3 a.m. April 26, he heard a noise outside his residence, and in the morning, he noticed damage to the rear window of a vehicle at his residence. Further investigation will follow as leads develop.
April 26, Brian Merryman, 39, of South Bristol, was issued a summons for operating after suspension, on Academy Hill Road, Newcastle, by Deputy Kevin Dennison.
April 28, Penny M. Carver, 45, of Augusta, was issued a summons for failing to notify of motor vehicle accident, on East Pond Road, Nobleboro, by Deputy Ryan Chubbuck.
April 26, Jeremiah W. Carleton, 31, of Washington, was arrested for operating vehicle without license, on Bunker Hill Road, Jefferson, by Deputy Chase Bosse.
May 1, Wayne T. Little, 27, of Jefferson, was arrested for violating condition of release, on Snyders Lane, Jefferson, by Detective Jared Mitkus, who was assisted by Detective Terry Michaud.
May 2, Thomas E. Proctor Jr., 66, of Boothbay, was arrested for aggravated reckless conduct, on Hamilton Gardens, Boothbay, by Detective Scott Hayden, who was assisted by numerous LCSO officers.
On April 25, an accident occurred on Patterson Road in Dresden involving Amy N. Wilkinson, 26, of Dresden. Wilkinson was operating her 2010 Subaru Outback northbound when she swerved for a deer in the road, causing her vehicle to go down into the right-side ditch. Deputy Gilbert was the investigating officer.
On April 26, an accident occurred on Head Tide Road in Alna involving Trey W. Knof, 20, of Newcastle. Knof was operating his 2001 Chrysler PT Cruiser southbound when he went off the roadway around a corner and struck a tree. Deputy Gilbert was the investigating officer.
On April 27, an accident occurred on Academy Hill in Newcastle involving Evangeline R. Margaritis, 17, of Newcastle, and Soe S. Thein, 48, of Bristol. Margaritis was backing her 2007 Volkswagen Passat from a parking spot after school when she failed to yield to Thein’s 2013 Cadillac XYS, which was parked and waiting for a student pickup. As a result, Margaritis struck Thein’s vehicle. Sgt. Mark Bridgham was the investigating officer.
On April 27, an accident occurred on Route 32 in Bristol involving Daria F. Norvlaan, 35, of Damariscotta. Norvlaan was operating her 1998 Toyota 4Runner northbound when she observed a deer in the road and went off the roadway, striking a tree. Deputy Dennison was the investigating officer.
On April 28, an accident occurred on East Pond Road in Nobleboro involving Penny M. Carver, 45, of Augusta. Carver was operating her 2005 Chevrolet Cobalt eastbound when she failed to stop at the intersection of Upper East Pond and East Pond Road. As a result, Carver failed to negotiate the left-hand turn and slid into the northbound ditch of East Pond Road. Deputy Chubbuck was the investigating officer.
On April 28, an accident occurred on Main Road on Westport Island involving Todd S. Nichols, 57, of Westport Island. Nichols was operating his 2013 GMC 1500 northbound when a deer ran into the roadway and struck his vehicle. Deputy 1st Class Brian Collamore was the investigating officer.
On April 29, an accident occurred on Indian Road in Dresden involving Brianna Mulherin, 17, of Wales. Mulherin was operating her 2004 Pontiac Sunfire eastbound when she failed to negotiate a left-hand turn. As a result, her vehicle went off the right side of the roadway and came to rest in a ditch. Deputy John Braley was the investigating officer.
On April 29, an accident occurred on Grand Army Road in Whitefield involving Sanford L. Hutchinson, 68, of Whitefield. Hutchinson was operating his 2007 Toyota Avalon northeast on Grand Army Road in the area of the bridge when he said he got distracted and, as a result, he swerved his vehicle and struck the concrete bridge rails, causing damage to the front passenger corner of his vehicle. Deputy Caleb Poirier was the investigating officer.
