
A 2016 Ford F-150 sustained damage to the driver’s side in an accident on Route 1 in Edgecomb on Thursday, May 4.
Sheriff Todd Brackett reports the following:
On May 2, Deputy Aaron Beck received a report of the theft of a socket set (value: $300) that was delivered to a residence in the Edgecomb area. The complainant said that after not receiving his delivery, he called the company and was told the tools were delivered. Further investigation will follow as leads develop.
Summons
May 3, a 16-year-old female from Jefferson was issued a summons for assault, for an incident that occurred in Bristol, by Deputy Kevin Dennison.
Arrests
May 6, Michael J. Doyen, 56, of Boothbay, was arrested for aggravated operating under the influence, on Ocean Point Road, Boothbay Harbor, by Reserve Deputy Richard Woodward.
Accidents
On May 4, an accident occurred on Route 1 in Edgecomb involving Robert E. Day, 62, of Warren, and Lee R. Straw, 61, of Newcastle. Both vehicles were heading northbound. Straw was in the passing lane/turning lane in his 2011 Chevrolet Express, attempting to turn left. Day was operating his 2016 Ford F-150 in the slower lane of traffic to the right of Straw’s vehicle. A vehicle directly in front of Day’s vehicle abruptly stopped to turn right onto Cross Street. Day attempted to go around that vehicle and was unable to get back into the slower lane before making contact with the rear passenger area of Straw’s vehicle. Deputy Chase Bosse was the investigating officer.
On May 6, an accident occurred on Wiscasset Road in Boothbay involving Shane R. Therrien, 48, of Boothbay. Therrien was operating his 1994 Chevrolet Caprice southbound when he attempted to pick up a toy for his daughter. As a result, he lost control of his vehicle, which veered across the roadway and glanced off a telephone pole, causing damage to the driver’s side of his vehicle. Deputy Justin Drake was the investigating officer.
On May 6, an accident occurred on Route 1 in Nobleboro involving Taylor N. Guptill, 18, of Friendship, and Kurt A. Ward, 25, of Chesapeake, Va. Guptill was slowing her 2016 Jeep Wrangler in traffic and Ward was following too closely in his 2016 Volkswagen Passat and, as a result, he was unable to stop in time and struck the rear of Guptill’s vehicle. Deputy 1st Class Brian Collamore was the investigating officer.
