Sheriff Todd Brackett reports the following:
On May 25, Deputy John Braley was dispatched to a report of a burglary of a red, 6250w Troy-Bilt generator (value: approximately $527) and four jugs of gasoline from a work site on Westport Island. Further investigation will follow as leads develop.
On May 28, Deputy 1st Class Brian Collamore, along with Sgt. Alan Shea, was dispatched to a report of terrorizing and false public alarm or report at a business in the South Bristol area. This case was turned over to the Criminal Investigative Division of LCSO for further investigation.
On May 29, Deputy 1st Class Collamore was dispatched to a report of criminal mischief to a mailbox in the Nobleboro area. The complainant said that sometime the previous evening or early that morning, it appears a vehicle struck his mailbox and damaged it. Further investigation to follow if leads develop.
Arrests
May 26, Sumner C. Keith, 24, of Nobleboro, was arrested for violating condition of release, on Waldoboro Road, Bremen, by Deputy Jonathan Colby, who was assisted by Deputy Ryan Chubbuck.
May 27, Wyatt Wilson, 40, of Whitefield, was arrested for burglary and theft by unauthorized taking or transfer, on Beech Lane, Whitefield, by Deputy Colby.
May 27, Matthew Nixon, 35, of Topsham, was arrested for operating under the influence, on Boothbay Road, Edgecomb, by Deputy John Braley.
Accidents
On May 25, an accident occurred on Harrington Road in South Bristol involving Olivia R. Goldfine, 41, of Wiscasset. Goldfine was operating her 2009 Toyota Yaris southbound when a deer entered the road in front of her vehicle from the eastbound ditch and was struck. Sgt. Mark Bridgham was the investigating officer.
On May 26, an accident occurred on Middle Road in Boothbay Harbor involving Nicholas R. Livingston, 29, of Boothbay Harbor. Livingston was backing up a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado belonging to the town of Boothbay Harbor when he struck a yellow post at the edge of the door at the Boothbay Harbor Public Works building. Deputy 1st Class Collamore was the investigating officer.
May 26, an accident occurred on Route 1 in Edgecomb involving Judith A. Harris, 57, of Westport Island, and Jennifer M. Greenleaf, 42, of Boothbay. Greenleaf was backing her 2016 Dodge D2500 out of a parking spot and struck Harris’ 2000 Volvo 70 in the right front. Deputy 1st Class Collamore was the investigating officer.
On May 26, an accident occurred on Route 1 in Newcastle involving Michael P. Burke, 47, of Newcastle; Raoul R. Nelson, 69, of Newcastle; and Susan E. James, 51, of Edgecomb. James, who was operating her 2008 Saab 9-3, and Nelson, who was operating his 2012 Nissan Frontier, slowed in traffic to merge onto Route 1 southbound. Burke, who was operating his 2003 Toyota Tundra behind Nelson’s vehicle, was also trying to merge, however, failed to realize Nelson and James had not merged yet. Burke was distracted looking for oncoming traffic and, as a result, he struck Nelson’s vehicle, causing Nelson’s vehicle to strike James’ vehicle. Lt. Brendan Kane was the investigating officer.
On May 28, an accident occurred on Waldoboro Road in Bremen involving Brenda S. Wallace, 62, of Wiscasset. Wallace was operating her 2007 Dodge Caravan northbound, rounding a curve, and once on the straight portion of the roadway, she fell asleep. As a result, her vehicle went off the right side of the roadway and into a ditch. Deputy 1st Class Collamore was the investigating officer.
On May 29, an accident occurred on Route 27 in Boothbay involving Michael R. Weeks, 30, of Manchester. Weeks was operating his 2007 Chevrolet 1500 northbound when he fell asleep. As a result, his vehicle went off the roadway and struck a tree. Deputy Chad Gilbert was the investigating officer.
