The Waldoboro Police Department reports the following activity from Oct. 3-11:
Oct. 3: Officer Thomas Bartunek investigated an accident on Depot Street at 5:52 p.m. Melani Darrell, 63, of Waldoboro, was driving a 2008 Toyota sedan. Dori Cross, 41, of New Hampshire, was driving a 2016 Toyota. Darrell was stopped at the intersection of Depot Street and Atlantic Highway. Cross pulled out of the Irving parking lot and headed north on Atlantic Highway. Darrell started into the intersection, did not see Cross, and struck the Cross vehicle in the rear driver’s side door.
Oct. 7: Sgt. Jamie Wilson investigated an accident on Atlantic Highway at 5:45 p.m. Susan Golden, 59, of Modesto, Calif., was driving a 2016 Nissan sedan. Gregory Ovel, 75, of The Villages, Fla., was driving a 2015 Volkswagen sedan. Golden was traveling south on Atlantic Highway, going up Ralph’s Hill. Ovel was in front of Golden and was also traveling southbound on Atlantic Highway. Ovel slowed down and put four-way flashers on due to the sun’s glare and poor visibility going up the hill. Golden came up behind Ovel and was unable to see the Ovel vehicle due to the sun’s glare. the Golden vehicle struck the Ovel vehicle.
Oct. 6: Officer Chris Spear investigated a report from multiple students at Medomak Valley High School of clowns on Manktown Road. He had negative contact with clowns.
Oct. 7: Officer Jeffery Fuller investigated a report of harassment by text message and issued a warning.
Oct. 9: Officer Fuller investigated a report that someone might have entered a small outbuilding, as the padlock was on the ground.
Oct. 11: Officer Larry Hesseltine investigated a report of the theft of a phone.
Waldoboro officers responded to 139 calls for service.
