The Waldoboro Police Department reports the following activity for the period of Jan. 17-24:
Daniel Benner, 35, Waldoboro, probation violation, Jan. 17.
Jan. 19: Officer Larry Hesseltine investigated an accident at the intersection of Sunset Ridge and Controversy Lane at 9:30 a.m. Victoria Austin, 40, of Waldoboro, was driving a 2012 GMC utility vehicle east on Sunset Ridge when she lost control due to snow and ice, crossed Controversy Lane, and struck a guide wire, causing damage to the vehicle. There were no injuries.
Jan. 24: Officer Hesseltine investigated an accident on Depot Street at 6:30 a.m. Desiree Munro, 27, of Thomaston, was driving a 2002 Chrysler sedan south and lost control on the snow/ice-covered roadway. The vehicle went off the road and into a utility pole.
Jan. 24: Officer Hesseltine investigated an accident on Washington Road at 10:40 a.m. Anthony Venti, 66, of Union, was driving a 2007 Ford sedan south, too fast for conditions, when he lost control and went off the southbound side, striking trees.
Jan. 18: Officer Hesseltine investigated a complaint of an attempted scam.
Jan. 19: Sgt. Jamie Wilson investigated a report of the theft of a purse.
Jan. 21: Officer Jeffery Fuller investigated a report of the theft of a kayak. The kayak was located and returned.
Jan. 21: Sgt. Wilson investigated a report of harassment via Facebook.
Jan. 23: Officer Fuller investigated a report of criminal mischief to a mailbox.
Officers responded to 117 calls for service.
