Six Lincoln Academy athletes and four Medomak Valley athletes placed in the KVAC indoor track and field championships, held at Bowdoin College on Feb. 11. Waterville boys and girls won the team titles. Medomak girls placed 12th and Lincoln girls 16th, Lincoln boys 14th and Medomak boys 19th.
Lincoln boys placed third in the 4×800 relay in 9:49 with Dan Mayer, Michael McCormick, Alex Organ and Julian Frink; and fifth in the 4×200 relay in 1:48 with Sal Azzaretti, Julian Frink, Tim Wells and Jake Daly-O’Donnell.
Jake Daly-O’Donnell placed fifth in two events, the 55 dash in 7.1 seconds, and the 200 in 25.12. Julian Frink took fifth in the 800 in 2:19. Josh Sullivan placed sixth in the 400 in 57.16 and the 200 in 25.66. Nick Smelcer was sixth in the two mile in 11:04. Hannah Fake placed fifth in the 55 hurdles in 10.01 and seventh in the 55 dash in 8.14. Teiga Martin was sixth in the 400 in 1:07.
Medomak girls were KVAC runner-ups in the 4×200 in a time of 2:00.59. Running a leg on the team were Julie Ennamorati, Maria Ennamorati, Amanda Young and Desiree Leary. Nick Anderson placed third in the mile in 4:56, and fifth in the high jump (5′). Amanda Young was fifth in the 55 dash in 7.94. Julie Ennamorati took fifth in the long jump (13’4.5″), and sixth in 55 dash in 8.11 and triple jump (31′.75″). Desiree Leary was sixth in the high jump (4’2″).
