Boothbay boys collected eight first place finishes to win a four team track meet at Wiscasset on May 2. Boothbay scored 79.5, Hall-Dale 74.5, Wiscasset 49 and Monmouth 46.
Wiscasset boys won the 4×100 relay and were 3rd in the 4×400. Brian Campbell won the 200 in 23.8 and was 2nd in the 400. Alex Cromwell was 2nd in the shot put. Joe Chapman took 2nd in the long jump and 3rd in the 200. Jason Berry was 2nd in the racewalk; Kyle Shute 3rd and Logan Grover 4th. Cormac Walsh was 4th in the discus, and Ryan Urquhart 5th in the 800.
Boothbay was led by Chase Brown with 1st places in the 800 and 3200; Nick Deniger with wins in the shot and discus and a 3rd place in javelin; Nate Schwehm 1st in 1600 and 2nd in 3200; Nick James tied for 1st in the high jump (5’10.25″); and Kade Smith won the racewalk.
Boothbay’s Brewer also won the long jump; and Sophia Thayer won the 1600 and 3200 distance races.
Monmouth won the girls’ meet with 115, followed by Hall-Dale 107, Winthrop 99, Wiscasset 91, Jay 90, Boothbay 61 and RoadRunners 38.
Morgan Dodge won the 400 in 1:04, and was 3rd in the 100 in 14.22 and 200 in 29.77. Samantha Sutter took 2nd in the discus 67’8.5″ and the shot (24′). Crysta Brown was 3rd in the 3200 in 15:22 and 6th in the 1600 in 7:26. Alyssa Urquhart took 4th in the racewalk in 14:24 and 3200 in 19:05. Haley Grant was 4th in the 200 in 31.71. Becca Slack took 4th in the high jump (4’2″) and 6th in the 200 in 32.47. Kelsey Hammond was 4th in the shot (22’4.75″) and Kasey Cromwell 6th (15’11.5″).
Winthrop won the boys’ meet with 149, beating out Hall-Dale 119, Boothbay 115, Wiscasset 94, Monmouth 84, RoadRunners 30 and Jay 11.
Brian Campbell won the 200 in 24.05, was 2nd in the 400 in 53.57 and 3rd in the 100 in 11.87. Joe Chapman won the long jump (17’9.5″), 4th in the 200 in 25.74 and 3rd in the 100 in 12.52. Kyle Shute took 2nd in the racewalk in 9:38 and Logan Grover 3rd in 12:15. John McLeod placed 5th in the 100 in 12.3. Josh DeLong was 6th in the 200 in 26.34. Cormac Walsh was 6th in the discus (87’9.5″).
