The 4th & 5th grade Eagle team handed the Portland Raiders their first loss of the season at Fitzpatrick Stadium in downtown Portland, 8-6, and extend their win streak to three in a row.
The Eagles won the opening coin toss and elected to receive the ball. They marched down the field with excellent blocking from the offensive line consisting of Corban Teel, Henry Spearman, Trevor Coffin, Andrew Greenleaf and Dakota Nutter. They scored with a halfback option play when quarterback Teddy Matel handed off to halfback Jacob Stafford. Stafford passed to wingback Brett Collamore who scored the touchdown. Teddy Matel scored the two point conversion on a sweep and that was all they needed.
In the third quarter the Portland Raiders put together a nice drive and scored their only touchdown of the game. They went for the tying two point conversion with a pass play, but Jacob Stafford was there to deflect the ball to the ground and that was the difference. Kameron Harrison came up with an interception as well.
The defense forced two turnovers in the second half, including an interception from Alex Achorn.
