Lincoln Academy boys’ tennis team looks to keep their KVAC dynasty going this spring. The Eagles have won the KVAC title three out of the last four years (2006, 2007, and 2009). They hope to defend their KVAC title and ring the school bell in celebration once again this season.
“This is probably the strongest team all around I’ve coached. The top seven are pretty straight forward,” fourth year coach Michael Blake commented.
The Eagles lost two starting seniors to graduation, but have reloaded with a couple of powerhouse freshmen that will step in and start.
Freshman Jordan Frieland will challenge senior Cameron Blake for the number one singles slot. Abe Hamilton will probably start at number three. Other possible starters include Patrick Williams, Isaac Vesery, Alex Hadi, Justin Smith, Daniel Mayer and Brandon Blake. Freshmen “Daniel Mayer and Brandon Blake are definitely going to be starting doubles,” coach Blake said.
Also playing tennis this spring are Chauncey Devin, Mitchell Boucher, Nick Wright, Pat Mullin, Savin Mattozzi, Malcolm Faux, Josh Hoepner, Mitchell Stewart and Daniel Paul. Megan Lyndaker will once again manage the team.
