Medomak Valley girls’ basketball team evened their record at 2-2 with a 42-36 win over Belfast in Waldoboro Tuesday night. “It was a defensive battle. We held them to two in the 3rd and they held us scoreless in the 2nd,” coach Randy Hooper said.
Medomak jumped out to a 13-7 1st quarter lead. Belfast went on a 13 point run in the 2nd frame to take a 20-13 lead at the half. The Panthers outscored the Lions 16-2 in the 3rd to take a 29-22 lead into the final frame.
Scoring for Medomak were Alanna Vose 17 (3A,4S), Mallory Robbins 8 (11R), Mallory Conary 8, Amanda Hendrickson-Belloguet 6, and Taylor Simmons 3.
Scoring for Leavitt were Lexi Nolligan 9, Emily Blood 8, Courtney Drinkwal 6, Rebecca Leonard 4, Katrina Lapham 3 and McKayla Cummings, McKenzie Thibodau and Ashley Littlefield 2 each.
“We played well. We did some good things, but we still have a lot to work on,” Hooper added.
Scoring for the Panthers were Alanna Vose 24 (5S), Amanda Hendrickson-Belloguet 8, Mallory Conary 4, Taylor Simmons 2, Taylor Poli 2 and Heidi Obuchon 1. Mallory Robbins led the Panthers on the boards with eight rebounds. Scoring for Gardiner were Granholm 12, Moore 10, Moody 10, McAllister 8, Macumber 7, Day 4 and Kelley 3.
