Wiscasset High School senior Jay Lamoureux fired up his first career no-hitter in a 5-0 shutout win over Monmouth May 5. Lamoureux struck out eight and walked two in the win.
Wiscasset scored two runs in the bottom of the 3rd. Jason Weatherbee singled, Vincent Souza walked, Chris Brawn hit a two run RBI single, and Brewer an RBI double. They added two runs in the 5th. Justin Caron singled, Brewer walked, Ryan Segovia drove in a run on a ground out, and Cody Verrill singled in a run.
Hitting for Wiscasset were Segovia with two singles, Brewer a double and Brawn, Caron, Lamoureux, Verrill and Weatherbee a single each.
Down 2-0 in the 3rd inning, the Redskins rallied for five runs. Justin Caron hit a single, and Mason Brewer walked to set up an RBI fielder’s choice to Ryan Segovia, RBI single to Lamoureux and a three run homerun to Cody Verrill.
They added six runs in the 4th. Brawn reached on an error, Caron singled and both scored on a Brewer double. Lamoureux and Verrill walked to load up the bases. Zach Pickering walked in a run, and Weatherbee scored a run when he was hit by a pitch. Wiscasset scored two more runs in the 5th. Devon Grover reached on a bunt single, Verrill walked, Pickering drove in a run on a fielder’s choice and Weatherbee drove in two runs on a single.
Caron went four for four at the plate for Wiscasset. Verrill hit a homerun, Brewer and Segovia a double each, and Brawn, Lamoureux, Grover, Pickering and Weatherbee a single each. Hitting for Hall-Dale were Alexander and McNaughton with a double and single each, Crocker two singles and McCullun and Leach one each.
Lisbon scored the winning run in the bottom of the 8th. Scott Eck doubled, the Greyhounds drew two walks and DeGou drove in Eck with a suicide squeeze bunt.
Wiscasset took a 3-0 lead in the top of the 1st. Weatherbee doubled, moved over on a Verrill bunt and scored on an Ashton Benn single. Vincent Souza and Brawn walked to set up a two run double to Caron.
Lisbon took a 4-3 lead in the bottom of the 6th. Wiscasset tied the game in the top of the 7th to force an extra inning. Brawn reached on an error, moved on a passed ball and scored on a Caron single to knot the score.
Hitting for Wiscasset were Caron and Brewer with two each, Weatherbee a double, and Verrill and Benn a single each. Hitting for Lisbon were Angelico with two, Eck and Harrington a double each, and Bubar, Frazier and Osmond a single each.
