Lincoln County 11&12 Little League softball all-stars defeated Waldoboro 14-1 June 30 in Nobleboro. Danielle Pinkham collected the four inning mercy ruling win (1B, 5K,1H). Stephanie Hill took the loss, and Kassandra Mank pitched in relief for Waldoboro.
Lincoln scored one run in the 1st inning when Brie Wajer walked, stole to third and scored on an Olivia York ground out. They added three runs in the 2nd. Lauren Hunt, Lindsay Brackett and Wajer walked. Hunt scored on a passed ball, Brackett on a bases loaded walk to Pinkham, and Wajer stole home.
Waldoboro spoiled the shutout in the 3rd inning with one run. Hill walked, stole to third and scored on a Vanessa Rancourt sacrifice.
Lincoln batted around in the 3rd inning for seven runs. Christine Hilton singled and scored on a passed ball. Hunt and Brackett walked to set up a two run double to Wajer. Sophie Schumacher and O. York walked, Wajer scored on an error and Pinkham hit a two run homerun. They added three runs in the 4th to win by mercy ruling. Margaret Skiff walked and scored on a passed ball. Logan Molt reached on a fielder’s choice and scored on a Wajer single. Wajer scored on a throwing error.
Hitting for Lincoln County were Wajer with a double and single, Pinkham a homerun, and Alyx York and Hilton a single each. Olivia Wheeler had the only hit for Waldoboro with a 2nd inning single.
Chloe Hallowell collected the win, and Danielle Pinkham the save. Hitting for Lincoln County were Bri Wajer with two singles, and Hallowell and Alyx York a single each. “We had a lot of walks and stolen bases,” coach CJ Wajer commented.
