Medomak 6 – Gardiner 3
Medomak Valley scored three runs in the bottom of the sixth to come from behind in their 6-3 win over Gardiner. The win was Panther baseball’s first victory of the season.
Nick DePatsy went the distance in the win (6H,3R,3E,2B,5K). Josh McKelvey took the loss (8H,6R,5E,2B,7K),
“This was a great first win for us. Nick really pitched very well especially considering he was on a school trip all last week and this was the first time he had pitched in over two weeks,” Medomak coach Scott Hastings said. “Fourteen Panthers got in the game today so the bench was a crucial part of the win. The winning run was scored by Michael Wadsworth after he came in to run for Josh Lee in the bottom of the sixth.”
Brad Weston hit a two run homerun to give Gardiner the lead in the top of the first. Medomak got one run back in the home half of the inning when Riley McCollett singled, stole second, and scored on an Ollie Brown single.
The Panthers added two runs in the bottom of the fifth to take the lead. McCollett singled, stole second and scored when Brown reached on an error. Brown stole second, went to third on a Tyler Emerson single, and scored on a Patrick Madden sacrifice fly.
Gardiner knotted the score at 3-3 in the top of the sixth.
Medomak rallied for three runs in the bottom of the sixth. Lee drew a walk. Wadsworth ran for him and stole second, moved to third on a DePatsy single, and scored on a McCollett single. McCollett stole to third and scored on a balk.
Hitting for Medomak was McCollett with four singles (four stolen bases), and Brown, Emerson, Lee and DePatsy a single each. Hitting for Gardiner were Nick Berube with two singles, Weston a homerun, and Ken Moore a single.
Belfast 2 – Medomak 1
Medomak Valley baseball lost 3-1 despite one of their best efforts of the season on Friday at Belfast. Emery Dinsmore went the distance in the win (2H,0B,4K) in a near perfect appearance. Micah Williamson took the loss (3I,5H,2R,2B,1K), and Adam Wilcox pitched three innings in relief (2H,1R,0B,4K).
Dinsmore helped his own cause in the first with an RBI single scoring Alex Flagg. Flagg doubled in the third and scored on a Matt Smith groundout to give Belfast a 2-0 lead.
Medomak got on the boards in the top of the fourth to spoil the shutout. Williamson singled, stole second and scored on an Ollie Brown ground out.
Belfast added a run in the fifth when Drew Stanley singled, stole second and scored on an outfield error put in play by Zach Collier.
Hitting for Medomak were Riley McCollett and Williamson with a single each. Hitting for Belfast were Stanley, three singles, Sam Kulikowski, two singles, Flagg, a double, and Dinsmore, a single.
Medomak 7 – Mt.View 1
Medomak Valley baseball defeated Mt.View 7-1 Monday night to pick up their second win of the season. Nick DePatsy collected the win (5I,4H,0R,1B,8K). Riley McCollett (1I,0H,0R,0B,2K) and Adam Wilcos (1I,1R,1H,2B,1H) pitched in relief.
Mikey Eustes took the loss (3I,8H,1B,2K) and Emmett Shell closed the game (4I,5H,2R,1B,1K).
The Panthers jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning. McCollett walked, stole second, and scored on a Micah Williamson single. Ollie Brown drove in Williamson on an error. Emerson hit a sacrifice bunt moving Brown, who went to third and scored on wild pitches.
Medomak added two runs in the second. McCollett singled, stole second and scored on a Williamson single. Williamson stole second, went to third on a balk and scored on a Brown single.
Medomak scored a run in the fourth when Williamson singled, stole second, and scored on a Brown single. They added a run in the fifth when Zach Little singled, moved over on a Colton Spear sacrifice bunt and wild pitch, and scored on an Alex Benner ground out.
Hitting for Medomak were Williamson and Brown with three singles each, Josh Lee two singles, and Michael Wadsworth, McCollett, Emerson, DePatsy, Little and Spear a single each. Hitting a single each for Mt.View were David Clark, Cole Hannah, Kevin Richards and Shell.
Nokomis 5 – Medomak 1
Nokomis baseball defended their home diamond May 6 for a 5-1 win over Medomak. Aron Smestad collected the win in six innings of work (1R,1B,1HP,4K), and Ray Girroir the save (0H,0R,0B,2K).
Micah Williamson took the loss (3 1/3I, 6H,4R,3B,0K) and Adam Wilcox closed out the game (1H,1R,2B,1K).
The Panthers spoiled the shutout in the sixth inning when Williamson walked, stole second, moved to third on a Ollie Brown sacrifice fly and scored on a Tyler Emerson ground out.
Hitting for Medomak were Williamson and Patrick Madden a double each, and Brown and Emerson a single each. Hitting for Nokomis were Girroir two singles, Noah Kershner a double, and Zack Ransdell, Andrew Dyer, Dylan Thibodeau, and Dominic Erickson a single each.
