Medomak Valley boys’ basketball team crushed the Black Bears Monday in Readfield, 72-36. The Panthers pounced on Maranacook early, taking a 20-8 lead at the end of the 1st quarter. Medomak extended the lead to 39-17 at the half and 60-28 at the end of three.
“We jumped on them early. The big thing is we held (Carl) Boucher to 11 points. We defended and rebounded well. We got running and they couldn’t stay with us,” coach Nick DePatsy commented.
Scoring for Medomak were Isaac Greenrose 19, Jon Hendrickson-Belloguet 12, Alex Greenrose 11 (5A), Ryan Ripley 10, Zach Judkins 7 (8R), Deering Genthner 4 (5A,5S), Kazu Tibbetts 4, Shane Osier 3, and Russell Wood 2. Robbie Griffin had 10 rebounds. Scoring for Maranacook were Boucher 11, Taylor Wilbur 6, Seth Miller 5, Jesse Evans 5, Richard Hall 3 and Carson Dalheim, Cameron Brochu and Brad Wooster 2 each.
Medomak boys are 9-2 and seeded first in East Class B Heal points.
The Panthers led 50-33 at the end of three and coasted to a 68-46 win over Nokomis Saturday night in Waldoboro.
Medomak’s bench scored 22 points in the win, led by Zach Judkins with 12 (11R,3S). Also scoring for the Panthers were Alex Greenrose 18 (4R,3A), Ryan Ripley 11 (4R,2A), Shane Osier 9 (7R,2A), Jon Hendrickson-Belloguet 8 (2R,2S,2A), Isaac Greenrose 5 (2R,4A), Deering Genthner 3 (3R,2S,4A), and Robbie Griffin 2. Scoring for Nokomis were Ethan Pearl 19 (6R,4S), Devin Chambers 15 (16R), Andrew Cartwright 5, Chandler Foss 4, Ruel Libby 2 and Austin Chipman 1.
