After a slow start, Medomak Valley girls’ basketball team scored 21 points in the 3rd quarter to take a commanding lead going into the final period. The Lady Panthers won 58-39.
Medomak jumped out to a 16-7 1st quarter lead. Down by 10 in the 2nd quarter, the Eagles went on an 11-1 run to tie the score 18-18 with 5:17 to go in the half.
Jen Genthner scored eight points in Lincoln Academy’s best half of basketball of the season. Medomak answered the threat with a 9-1 run to take the lead for good. Lincoln scored the final four points to cut the lead to four, 29-25 at the half.
Mallory Conary hit four baskets in the 3rd period, including two big threes to lead the Panthers’ offense and build a 17-point lead, 50-33 at the end of three. The Lady Panthers won a slow paced final period 8-6 to win by 19.
Scoring for Medomak were Conary 15 (3-3’s, 6R,2S)), Taylor Simmons 12, Alanna Vose 12 (3R,7S,3A), Mallory Robbins 7 (7R), Amanda Hendrickson-Belloquet 6 (8R), Hanna Marks 4 and Elise Wallace 2. Scoring for the Eagles were Jen Genthner 14 (9R), Leslie Sandefur 10 (6R), Merissa Look 4, Taylor Oliver 3, Rachel Hughes 2 (5R), Danielle Pierce 2, Sophia Carbonneau 2 and Bailey Pendleton 1.
Oceanside sailed out to a 10-2 lead early in the 1st period. The Panthers clawed their way back with a 12-2 run, including scoring nine straight points to take a two-point lead. Alanna Vose scored 10 points in the rally, including two 3s. The Mariners finished the frame with a 6-3 run to take a one-point lead at the break, 18-17.
Emily Gould boosted Oceanside’s lead to three to open the 2nd period.
Mallory Robbins crashed the glass for two, Taylor Simmons scored on an Amanda Hendrickson-Belloguet feed, and Vose netted two at the charity stripe to put Medomak up by three.
With Vose in foul trouble, the Tigers roared ahead, scoring 14 straight points in a three and a half minute span, led by Jill Bradbury with eight. Vose scored from the floor and Mallory Conary hit two at the line to cut the lead to seven by halftime, 34-27.
Oceanside outscored Medomak 12-6 in the 3rd quarter to extend their lead to 13, 46-33 at the end of three. The Panthers made a run at the Mariners early in the 4th, cutting the lead to seven with 5:50 to go, but that would be as close as they would come.

Scoring for Oceanside were Jill Bradbury 25 (8R,4S), Kennadi Grover 19 (10R,2S), Brooke Dugan 8, Jen Denault 3, Hannah Plourde 3 (7R), Emily Gould 3, Emma Davis 2 and Phoebe Ferraiolo 2. The Mariners held a 39-29 advantage on the boards.
