Medomak Valley boys’ basketball team successfully defended their home court against the Tigers of Gardiner Friday night for a 64-53 win. The Panthers led 13-7 at the quarter, 28-21 at the half, and 44-36 at the end of three.
Gardiner took the early lead, 3-0, but it was short lived, as the Panthers ended the frame with six straight points on hoops from the Greenrose twins and John Murray to put Medomak up for good.
The Panthers sank 7 of 12 from the free throw line, led by Isaac Greenrose (5 for 6). “Ryan Ripley was huge in the 4th quarter, with six rebounds. His defense was unbelievable,” coach Nick DePatsy said.
“The bench did well. Different kids are stepping up every game. Brandon Soper did a great job off the bench. He had some big minutes. Having Isaac Greenrose back was huge. He played an all around good game. Robbie Griffin had a big 1st half with kids in foul trouble, and Deering Genthner played well,” DePatsy said.
