Four Medomak Valley wrestlers traveled to Howland on Dec. 29 to compete in the Penobscot Valley Invitational holiday tournament. The four Panthers placed 15th as a team, out of 25 teams, scoring 36 points.
Yannick Price-Prevot was runner-up at 220 pounds. He pinned Sean Cote (Win), beat Tyler Stevenson (Mt.V) by 12-9 decision, beat Ryan Malcolm (Mad) by 12-8 decision to advance to the finals, where he was pinned by Michael Garland (Ell) for second place.
Stefan Nicholls (132) placed fourth in the tournament. Nicholls pinned Jack Weeks (Ell), lost a 14-9 decision to Jordan Lord (GSA), pinned Roger Flannery (Mt.V), and lost a 4-3 decision to Brandon Wood (Car) in the consolation finals for fourth place.
CeCe Luce (138) was pinned by Mark Dolloff and eliminated by Cody Staples (Her) by an 8-1 decision.
Cyril Miller (170) lost to Kyle Folley (Mad) by a 9-5 decision, pinned Kyle Calvo (Win), pinned Jake Blanchette (Mt.V), and was eliminated by Brandon Hartt (Ft.K) by fall.
