Waldoboro 10&11 Little League All-stars rallied from a 6-0 deficit to beat Knox Suburban 8-7 on July 14 and advance to the District 2 championship game against Waldo County.
Channing Soper got the start and allowed six runs on two hits. Brett Collamore (3K,1H,3B) came on in relief in the 4th inning and shut Knox down for the win.
Knox took a 6-0 lead after three and a half innings. Waldoboro battled back, scoring three runs in the bottom of the 4th to cut the lead in half. Patrick White walked and scored on a Soper double. Parker Lash pinch ran for Soper and scored on a Collamore bunt single. Collamore stole to third and scored on a passed ball.
Waldoboro scored four runs in the 5th inning to take a 7-6 lead. Jacob Faria walked, and Christian Hoch reached on a bunt single to set up an RBI double to Isaac Eustler, RBI sacrifice to Adam Eustler, RBI triple to White, and RBI single to Soper.
Knox tied the game in the top of the 6th. Patrick Madden walked and scored on a Louis Laurita ground out. Adam Eustler tagged out Davas Ball between first and second after fielding a ground ball to get out of a two-runners-on jam.
Waldoboro went to work in the bottom of the inning. Faria reached on an error, went to third on a passed ball and scored on a walk off single to I. Eustler.
Hitting for Waldoboro were I. Eustler and Soper a double and single each, Collamore two singles, White a triple, Hoch a single. Hitting for Knox were Robinson, Nick Winters and Max Pushaw with a single each.
Hitting for Waldoboro were Kyle Moore with a double and 2 singles, Alex McKenney 3 singles, Emmett Shell a double and single, Colby Trask 2 singles, Brandon Smith a triple, and Barrett Grant, Eric Phillips and Mitchell Philbrook a single each.
