Wiscasset’ Julia West placed in two events at the State Class B swimming championships held at the University of Maine Orono on Monday.
Julia West broke her own school record in the 100 breaststroke at the State meet on Monday in a time of 1:13.85. Her previous record was 1:14.07 set in 2014.
“She really just had an excellent last meet of her high school career. She gave it her all. It was a perfect last meet for her,” coach Nori McLeod said of her senior.
West also took six seconds off her 200 IM time.
West swam to a seventh place finish in the breaststroke in 1:13 and a 12th place finish in the 200 IM in 2:28.
Lincoln Academy girls swim team scored points in two relays, taking 14th in the 200 free in 2:04 with Kate Laemmle, Sammy Ober, Annie Farnsworth, and Essie Martin; and 15th in the 400 free relay in 4:42 with the same four swimmers.
Boothbay placed in two relays, taking 12th in the 200 free in 2:01 with Nicole LeBreque, Brenna Alley, Lincoln Hamblet, and Evy Case swimming a leg; and 13th in the 200 medley relay in 2:14 with the same four swimmers.
Lincoln also competed in the 200 medley relay and took 18th in 2:18 with Anna Sirois, Ober, Elise Dumont, and Laemmle.
Lincoln girls qualifying and competing include Dumont (32. 200IM, 2:50; 24. 100 butterfly, 1:15), Martin (22. 50 free, 28.88, 24. 500 free, 6:33), Sirois (38. 100 back, 1:18), and Ober (23. 100 breaststroke, 1:24).
Boothbay girls qualifying and competing include Alley (30. 200 free, 2:28; 36. 100 back, 1:18), Case (20. 200 IM, 2:36), and LeBreque (21. 100 fly, 1:12; and 35. 100 back, 1:16).
