Wiscasset softball snapped a six game losing streak on May 11 with a 26-6 five inning mercy ruling win over Boothbay. Wiscasset batted around two-plus times in the 1st inning, with 23 batters coming to the plate to score 16 runs.
Syd Morin collected the win (7K, 3B, 3H), and Megan Corson pitched in relief (2K, 4B, 2HP, 1H). Allison Crocker took the loss for the Seahawks.
Boothbay led briefly when Tori Schmid reached on an error, and Crocker and Meghan Smith singled. Wiscasset plated 16 in the home half to put the game away early.
Hitting for Wiscasset were Carolyn Footer a double and 3 singles, Briana Goud 4 singles (4RBI), Corson (2RBI), Heidi Pinkham and Morin (4RBI) 3 hits each, Paige Teel (3RBI) and Hannah Campbell (1RBI) 2 hits each, and Kayla Sproul a single (2RBI). Hitting for Boothbay were Meghan Smith 2 singles and Tori Schmid and Crocker 1 each.
Heidi Pinkham took the loss for the Redskins (13H, 3K, 7B).

Hitting for the Buccaneers were Jill Bradbury and Kelsie Thompson with three each, Kennadi Grover a homerun and single, Jessie Veilleux 2 singles, Katlyn Rich and Natalie Russell a double each, and Rachel Frye and Natalie Atwood a single each. Georges Valley took advantage of 10 errors in the win.
Wiscasset scored a run in the 4th when Pinkham walked and scored on a Kayla Sproul single. They added 2 in the 5th on a walk to Megan Corson and Morin and single to Teel.

Wiscasset spoiled the shutout with two runs in the 4th inning. Footer walked, MacKenzie Chancellor reached on a fielder’s choice and both scored on a Heidi Pinkham hit.
