The Dirigo Cougars boys’ basketball team roared into Wiscasset Tuesday night, snapping the Wolverines five game winning streak, 82-67. The Cougars went on a 12-2 run late in the 1st period, to build a double-digit lead, 22-12 at the break. Dirigo led 43-24 at the half and 65-42 at the end of three.
Wiscasset continued to scrap throughout the game, out scoring the Cougars 25-17 in the final period. The Wolverines also out rebounded Dirigo in 2nd half action. Wiscasset forced Cougar 25 turnovers in the loss.
Scoring for Wiscasset were Jordan Jones 21 (5R), Caleb Bryant with a career high 18 points (10R,3S), Austin Haskell 9 (4R,5S,2B,4A), Cory Hodgdon 7, Dale Peaslee 4, Jason Weatherbee 3, James Andretta 2, Zach Ellison 1 and Travis Padilla 1. Scoring for Dirigo were Cody St. Germain 28 (12R), Ben Holmes 16 (6R), Caleb Turner 12 (5R), Josh Turbide 8, TJ Frost 5, Robbie Babb 4, Hunter Russ 3, Jake Dowland 2, Chad Snowman 2 and Mitch Stanley 2 (5R).
Wiscasset’s record is 7-6.

Scoring for Lisbon were Mason Haley 9, Mason Smith 7, Kendal Roy 4, Kyle Sheehan 4, Nick Collins 3, Derrick Lycette 3, and Tucker Brannon, Jacob Bremmen and Ryan Brewer, 2 each.
The Wolverines out scored Winthrop 12-5 in the 2nd period to take a 25-13 lead into the half. They led 36-22 at the end of three, before Wiscasset exploded for 25 points in the final frame, while holding the Ramblers to three.
