Freeport rallied for two runs in the top of the seventh inning to beat Lincoln Academy softball 7-6 on Friday, April 24 in Newcastle.
The Lady Eagles jumped out to a 4-0 lead after three innings. They scored two runs in the second with Lily Pinkham and Claire Ward crossing the plate. Lilly Labrie singled and Pinkham reached on a bunt fielder’s choice in the third and both scored.
Freeport took advantage of four walks and a single by Ali Brown and a two-run double by Allison Black to score five runs and take the lead.
Lincoln retook the lead in the fifth with two runs. Olivia Ball and Labrie walked and Pinkham was hit by a pitch to load up the bases. Ward drove in Ball with a sacrifice fly and Harmony Clifford drove in a run on an infield single.

Freeport’s Brown reached on an outfield error and scored on an Ava Emmons triple. Emmons scored on an error for the winning run.
Ward hit a single and Ava Weipert walked, but the Eagles left them stranded in the bottom of the seventh.
Ball took the loss (6H, 7R, 6B, 6K). Freeport relief pitcher Lilliana Larochelle collected the win (2H, 2R, 4B, 2K). Chloe Bernier started for the Falcons (3I, 8H, 4R, 0B, 3K).
Hitting for Lincoln were Ward with two, including a double, Rowan Coffin a double, and Ball, Aubrey Court, LaBrie, Pinkham, Weipert and Clifford a single each.
Hitting for Freeport were Brown with two, Walsh and Black a double each, Emmons a triple, and Walsh and Bernier a single each.
