Members of the public are invited to join New Ventures Maine, Coastal Enterprises Inc., Habitat for Humanity, and other housing experts for a free, informative panel discussion called “How to Afford a Home on the Midcoast,” on how low-to-moderate income Midcoast residents can become homeowners with financing terms that are affordable. The event will take place from 5-6:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 21 at the Central Lincoln County YMCA, 525 Main St., Damariscotta.
Whether one is ready to become a homeowner now or wishes to start planning for the future, there will be resources available to help in reaching one’s goal of homeownership. Topics covered will include how to prepare for homeownership; how to partner with Habitat for Humanity; affordable financing options, including the MaineHousing Mortgage; and the Family Development Account 4:1 matched savings program.
Free sign-up is requested for planning purposes but is not required. For more information or to sign up, call Melinda at New Ventures Maine at 593-7942 or email melinda.wildes@maine.edu, or register through Central Lincoln County Adult Education.
