Due to the high temperatures forecast for the weekend, Alna’s emergency management agency director will open a cooling shelter at the fire station, 1579 Alna Road, from noon to 4 p.m. on Saturday, July 20.
Alna residents are welcome to enjoy the air conditioning provided by the new heat pump in the meeting room.
Residents should bring their own entertainment and snacks. Wi-Fi is available. Children must be supervised by a parent or legal guardian at all times.
Pets must be in an enclosure at all times (crate, carrier, cage, terrarium, etc.). Owners of service animals need to provide the appropriate paperwork if the animal is not going to be caged.
