It’s all about spring at Pumpkin Vine Family Farm in Somerville on Sunday, May 28. The farm will be open that day from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., and the public is invited to visit the new crop of baby goats as they stretch their legs on the fresh grass. Located at 217 Hewett Road in Somerville, the farm is a perfect destination for a Sunday afternoon excursion: visitors can tour the farm, hike the fields, and even have a picnic (blankets are provided). Or one can bring a friend and enjoy a cup of tea and some of Benji’s famous home-baked pastries in the lovely farm cafe.
The farm stand offers fresh local produce from four Somerville farms, from eggs and asparagus to pork and goat cheese. There is even a special kids area, with books, games, and drawing materials. This week, kids can make their own May basket – all the materials are provided!
The farm will be open every Sunday through Thanksgiving, with fresh seasonal products and a variety of kids activities. For more information, go to pumpkinvinefamilyfarm.com or follow the farm on Facebook.
