We would like to thank Brian Giles, who stopped, with his chainsaw, on Aug. 17, to help us clear a large limb from Mason Road.
The fire departments of Boothbay, Boothbay Harbor, Edgecomb, and Southport will host the 54th annual Maine State Federation of Firefighters Convention this weekend in Boothbay. You can Google Maine Firefighters Convention for a schedule of events. Also, check this week’s newspaper for events.
We would also like to thank Ted Hugger for providing us a prominent spot on the lawn of the Cod Cove Inn to park our antique fire engine with an advertisement for the firefighters convention.
August, a traditional month for kicking back and relaxing, was a busy month for the Edgecomb Fire Department. In addition to performing truck and equipment checks and ongoing training, we responded to 22 calls, listed below. This is a heavy load, which our small department gladly carries. We can always use more help.
If you are interested (the work is very rewarding) please stop by the fire station any Tuesday evening from 6:30-8.
