Farm and Table, the first issue of Lincoln County Magazine in 2018, will make its debut May 24.
The issue will feature an in-depth look into Somerville’s farming revival as well as a comprehensive guide to craft breweries in Lincoln County. The issue also introduces recurring features, such as the “50 Years Ago in Lincoln County” column, a portfolio from a local artist, a coloring page, and much more.
In addition, Skidompha Library will exclusively reveal the book for the 2018 Community Read in the first edition of the magazine. The six-week program, which runs from the end of June to the beginning of August, will focus on the themes of food, community, and identity.
For 13 years, Lincoln County Magazine has been a marquee product for Lincoln County Publishing Co., which also prints The Lincoln County News. Four issues of the magazine were released each summer alongside the Lincoln County Summer Season Activities Guide.
This year, the magazine has undergone a complete revamp, from design and layout to editorial content and advertising opportunities.
Christine LaPado-Breglia, the newspaper’s arts and lifestyle editor, serves as the magazine’s editor. Megan Hyson, graphic designer for The Lincoln County News, oversees the layout and look for Lincoln County Magazine.
“After months of anticipation and a lot of creative, hard work from a number of people here at the LCN, I am happy to say that the first issue of the new Lincoln County Magazine – ‘Farm & Table’ – has made it from being simply an idea to becoming a beautiful, useful, glossy magazine. I am proud of what we have done and hope that readers will share our excitement,” LaPado-Breglia said.
In addition to appearing in local copies of The Lincoln County News, Lincoln County Magazine will be available in many area businesses and visitor centers. Five issues of the magazine will be published from May through September, and each edition has its own theme: Farm and Table, Made in Lincoln County, Live from Lincoln County, Outdoors, and Live Well.
