The Central Lincoln County YMCA indoor Damariscotta Farmers’ Market is in full swing. The community can visit the vendors inside at the YMCA every Friday from 9 a.m. to noon. All are welcome and are encouraged to attend this reoccurring event.
The YMCA has always stood for healthy living and social responsibility, and one of the best ways to be healthy and help out the community is to shop at one’s local farmers market.
The market moved indoors to the CLC YMCA, at 525 Main St. in Damariscotta, back in early November and has continued to be a popular way for people to stock up on their favorite winter produce, cheeses, breads, baked goods, seafood, eggs, preserves, and more.
Current participating vendors include Appleton Creamery, Chase Farm Bakery, Dharma Farm, Du Jardin, Erskine Farm, Goranson Farm, Hootenanny Bread, Morning Dew Farm, Oyster Creek Mushrooms, Pemaquid Lobster & Seafood, Rising Tide, Seacolors Yarnery, and Sowbelly Butchery.
As one enters the Y, one should not be surprised to hear music, singing, or other merriment, as Derek DeGeer from Hootenanny Bread has been known to provide entertainment as well — particularly when the Y’s pre-K students venture out of the classroom.
The CLC YMCA is a key collaborative leader improving the quality of life for all by being the champion for youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility.
