On Wednesday, May 15 from 1-3 p.m., there will be a presentation of the Maine Flood Resilience Checklist by Abbie Sherwin of the Southern Maine Planning and Development Commission, followed by a presentation on hazard mitigation in Lincoln County by Lincoln County Emergency Management Agency and the Maine Emergency Management Agency. The event will take place at the Lincoln County Regional Planning Commission office, 297 Bath Road, Wiscasset.
The Maine Flood Resilience Checklist is a self-assessment tool for Maine’s coastal communities to evaluate vulnerability to flood hazards and increase resilience.
Lincoln County Emergency Management Agency will present an overview of the Hazard Mitigation Grant Program with support from the Maine Emergency Management Agency. This will be a great opportunity to learn more about the program and get any questions answered.
Those who are an emergency management agency director, a public works/road commissioner, a code enforcement officer, a town administrator/manager, a fire chief, a police chief, a selectman, or a planner will find these presentations are for them.
RSVP to the Lincoln County Regional Planning Commission’s Megan McLaughlin at mmclaughlin@lcrprc.org, 882-5986, by Monday, May 13. The presentations are free and open to the public.
